About Us
The story of Buddha View Hostel begins with a deep connection to Koh Tao and the ocean that surrounds it. Our roots trace back to the founding of Buddha View Dive Centre, located at Tanote Bay, one of the most beautiful and untouched beaches on the island.
For over 25 years, Buddha View Dive Centre has built a reputation as one of Thailand’s leading dive facilities—a PADI 5-Star Career Development Centre trusted by beginners and professionals alike. With expert instructors, a purpose-built training pool, and direct access to vibrant coral reefs, we've helped thousands of divers from around the world take their first breaths underwater and grow into confident professionals.
To make diving more accessible from the moment travelers arrive, we opened our Mae Haad office, just 100 meters from the pier. This location offers convenient course registration, orientation, and daily transfers to our dive centre at Tanote Bay.
But something was missing. Our guests needed a place to stay that carried the same warmth, professionalism, and thoughtful design as our diving services. That’s why we created Buddha View Hostel—a modern and eco-conscious accommodation just 300 meters from the Mae Haad pier, designed to complete the Buddha View experience.

Koh Tao is a remote and beautiful island—but it also faces real limitations when it comes to infrastructure. At Buddha View Hostel, we’ve chosen to be self-sufficient, reliable, and environmentally responsible.
We operate on solar energy, supported by a backup power generator to ensure continuous electricity. Our water system is based on filtered rainwater and underground sources, giving you 24/7 access to clean water—something that many properties on the island cannot guarantee due to limited public utilities.​
