Open Water (2.5 days)
Become a certified diver for life. Pool training plus 4 ocean dives. Maximum of 4 students per instructor, gear and transport included.
Rates reserved for hostel guests
The big one: become a certified diver for life. Over two and a half days you train with a PADI 5-Star centre that has certified more than 100,000 divers, and you leave with a certification recognised at dive shops worldwide.
Day one mixes a little theory with your first skills in our pool. Over the next day and a half you make four ocean dives, to a maximum of 18 metres, where you practice buoyancy, mask clearing and simple navigation until they feel natural. Groups stay small, with a maximum of four students per instructor.
Once certified, you can dive almost anywhere in the world, down to 18 metres. You can even start the theory online before you arrive, to spend more of your time here in the water.
What you need
Bring a swimsuit, a towel and reef-safe sunscreen, plus two and a half consecutive days free. No diving experience is needed, but you must be comfortable in water: swimming 17 pool lengths at an easy pace and floating for 10 minutes are part of the course.
Minimum age is 10 for the Junior Open Water. Everyone completes a medical questionnaire, and a few conditions need a doctor's sign-off, so check in advance if you are unsure. Remember not to fly for 18 to 24 hours after your final dive when you plan your onward travel.
